आज अग्निवीर वेबसाईट पर अलग-अलग विषयों पर बड़ी मात्रा में लेख प्रकाशित किये गए हैं| इसलिए किसी व्यक्ति के लिए थोड़े बहुत लेखों को पढ़ कर ही अग्निवीर के द्रष्टिकोण का अनुमान लगाना मुश्किल है| वैसे तो हमने हमारा लक्ष्य और स्वप्न इस वेबसाईट के अलग-अलग भागों (Site Name, Tag Line, Footer Statement, About pageऔर Disclaimer section)के द्वारा स्पष्ट कर दिया हैं, पर फिर भी हमें लगता है कि किसी भी प्रकार की गलत धारणाएँ याँ भ्रम को दूर रखने के लिए, विभिन्न विषयों पर हम कैसे मंतव्य रखते है उसका स्पष्टीकरण कर लेना उपयुक्त होगा|
१. अग्निवीर वैदिक धर्म में, जिस धर्म को Vedic Religion in brief लेख में संक्षिप्त में समझाया गया है, दृढ विश्वास रखता है| इसके साथ-साथ अग्निवीर शांति, सहनशीलता और जिसके मूल में सत्य और प्रमाणिकता हो ऐसे चरित्र और एकता में विश्वास रखता है| अगर किसी व्यक्ति को इस बात पर कोई आपत्ति या मतभेद हो तो अग्निवीर उसके समाधान के लिए चर्चा करने को हमेशा से तैयार है| और अगर जरुरत पड़ी तो अग्निवीर अपनी इस मान्यता में बदलाव/सुधार लाने के लिए भी तैयार है| पर आज तक कोई व्यक्ति इस में किसी भी प्रकार की खराबी नहीं ढूँढ पाया|
२. अग्निवीर ईश्वरकृत तथा मानवजाति के सर्वप्रथम ग्रंथ – वेद –में विश्वास रखता है| अग्निवीर मानता है कि ईश्वर की प्रेरणा से हमें वेदों का ज्ञान प्राप्त हो सकता है| केवल वेद ही सर्वश्रेष्ठ और उत्तम ग्रंथ है इस निष्कर्ष पर आने के पीछे बहुत से तार्किक कारण है|
३. केवल वेद ही उत्तम ग्रंथ होने पर भी, अग्निवीर वेदों का स्वीकार करने के लिए किसी भी व्यक्ति पर किसीभी प्रकार का दबाव डालने में विश्वास नहीं रखता| क्योंकि ऐसा करना स्वयं वेदों के मूल सिद्धांत के विरुद्ध है| वेद ही श्रेष्ठ ग्रंथ है इस बात का निर्णय, और बाद में उसका स्वीकार, पहले से ही स्थापित मान्यताओं के आधार पर नहीं परन्तु चर्चा के निष्कर्ष के रूप में ही होना चाहिए| ये वेदों का ही सार है| इसलिए जो लोग अभी तक वेदों को श्रेष्ठ नहीं मानते पर “सत्य का स्वीकार और असत्य का अस्वीकार” मंत्र का अपने जीवन में आचरण करते है, और सारे विश्व को अपना ही एक परिवार समझते है, वो सभी लोग अग्निवीर की दृष्टि में नेक हैं|
४. हर एक व्यक्ति का अपना अलग विचार या मत होता है| इसलिए अग्निवीर के विचारों का कोई व्यक्ति, वर्ग/समुदाय या फ़िर कोई धर्म संप्रदाय से भिन्न होना स्वाभाविक है| पर ऐसा होने पर भी अग्निवीर किसी भी समस्या का समाधान करने के लिए बौद्धिक चर्चा का मार्ग ही अपनाने में विश्वास रखता है| वैदिक धर्म समग्र मानवजाति के लिए है| इसलिए अगर कोई व्यक्ति हमारे साथ एकमत न भी हो फिर भी उस व्यक्ति के साथ हमारा व्यवहार परिवार के एक सदस्य के जैसा ही रहेगा|
वैदिक धर्म मनुष्यों की जाति, पंथ, लिंग, जन्म, भौगोलिक स्थान या अन्य मान्यताओं को ध्यान में न लेते हुए उन सभी लोगों के लिए एक समान है जो लोग सर्व मानवजाति के लिए आनंद और शांति की कामना करते हैं| वैदिक धर्म उन सभी लोगों के लिए भी है जो अपने विचार और मान्यताएँ दूसरों पर जबरदस्ती या छल-कपट से नहीं थोपते|
५. अग्निवीर ईश्वर की सच्ची उपासना करने, आध्यात्मिक उन्नति करने, और जीवन में यथार्थ सुख और आनंद प्राप्त करने के लिए अष्टांग योग में विश्वास रखता है|
यम – अहिंसा, सत्य, अस्तेय, अपरिग्रह, ब्रह्मचर्य
नियम –शौच(शरीर और मन की शुद्धि), संतोष(संतुष्ट और प्रसन्न रहना), तप(स्वयं से अनुशाषित रहना), स्वाध्याय(आत्मचिंतन करना), ईश्वर-प्रणिधान(ईश्वर के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण, पूर्ण श्रद्धा)
आसन –ईश्वर के ध्यान में लंबे समय तक शांत और स्थिर बैठना
प्राणायाम – आसन में बैठने के बाद श्वास लेने सम्बन्धी खास तकनीकों द्वारा प्राण पर नियंत्रण करना
प्रत्याहार–मन को बाहरी अशांति से अलग कर इन्द्रियों को अंतर्मुखी करना
धारणा – मन को हदय या मस्तक जैसे किसी स्थान पर स्थिर कर ईश्वर का ध्यान करना
ध्यान – कोई एक स्थान पर मन को स्थिर करने के बाद वेद मंत्र या अन्य शब्दों के माध्यम से इश्वर का अनुभव करने के लिए इश्वर के गुण-कर्म स्वभाव का निरंतर चिंतन करना
समाधि – ईश्वर का ध्यान धरे रहने से जब इश्वर की अनुभूति होती है, ऐसी अवस्था
६. अग्निवीर विकासमूलक और प्रेम भरे अभिगम में विश्वास रखता है, और मानता है कि द्वेषपूर्ण अभिगम अपनाने से द्वेष का ही सामना करना पड़ता है| इसलिए अग्निवीर का अभिगम सदा से ही प्रामाणिक तरीके से बौद्धिक और भावात्मक जागरूकता फ़ैलाना है|
७. अग्निवीर जन्म पर आधारित जाति-व्यवस्था का सख्त विरोधी है| अग्निवीर जाति-व्यवस्था को समर्थन देने वाले सभी लोगों का भी सख्त विरोधी है| अग्निवीर मानता है कि जो लोग जाति-व्यवस्था की आड़ में रहकर सामाजिक और राजनैतिक हकों की समानता का लाभ कुछ ही ‘उच्च’ वर्ग के लोगों के लिए सीमित कर देना चाहते है, वो सभी लोग, सभ्य समाज और मानवता के शत्रु हैं| अग्निवीर उन सभी लोगों के साथ साथ इस शर्मनाक जाति-व्यवस्था को समर्थन देने वाले सभी गलत ग्रंथो का भी अस्वीकार करता है|
८. अग्निवीर उन सभी विकृत लोगों और उनके विकृत ग्रंथो का सख्त विरोधी है जो यह मानते है कि स्त्रियों के अधिकार पुरुषों के अधिकारों की तुलना में निम्न और गौण होने चाहिए| वेदों में स्त्रियों को बहुत ऊँचा स्थान दिया गया है| और जो लोग यह बात को नहीं मानते वो सभी मानवता के सबसे बड़े शत्रु है|
९. अग्निवीर – ‘मातृवत परदारेषु’ – पत्नी के सिवाय सभी स्त्री माता समान है – सिद्धांत में दृढ़ विश्वास रखता है| अग्निवीर संप्रदाय, जाति, समाज या दूसरी कोई मानव निर्मित हदों को ध्यान में न लेते हुए, उन सभी लोगों को अपराधी ठहरता है जो ‘मातृवत परदारेषु’ के सिद्धांत को नहीं मानते| अग्निवीर आज के ऐसे सभी विज्ञापनों, व्यवसायों, फिल्मों, खेलों और अपराधियों के राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठित गुटों का भी विरोध करता है, जो स्त्री को केवल मनोरंजन और वासना की वस्तु समझते हैं| अग्निवीर इन गुन्हेगारों के राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठित गुटों को समाज में फैला हुआ रोग मानता है|
वेद कहते है कि स्त्रियों का शोषण कर के धन कमाने वाले लोगों को सख्त से सख्त सजा होनी चाहिए| हम स्त्रियों को बुरखे में कैद रखने की प्रथा का भी विरोध करते है| इसके साथ साथ मनोरंजन के नाम पर माता समान स्त्री के व्यापारिक शोषण का भी सख्त विरोध करते हैं|
१०. अग्निवीर ग्रिफिथ और मेक्स मुलर द्वारा किये हुए वेदों के गलत अनुवादों को नहीं मानता| वेदों को समझने के लिए हम अपनी वेबसाईट के डाउनलोड सेक्शन में उपयोगी पुस्तकों का संग्रह करने का प्रयत्न कर रहे है| लेकिन हम ये बात स्पष्ट कर देना चाहते है कि केवल आधुनिक भाषा के प्रयोग से ही वेदों का अर्थघटन संभव नहीं| वैदिक मंत्र सूत्रों के समान होते है| और हर एक मंत्र में गहरा सार छिपा हुआ होता है| इसलिए वैदिक मंत्रो को समझने के लिए गहन अंत:अवलोकन, थोडा संस्कृत भाषा का ज्ञान, और मंत्रो की अनुभूति करने की आवश्यकता होती है| वैदिक मंत्रो को रटने जैसे अन्य कोई यांत्रिक तरीके से उसका अर्थघटन संभव नहीं| वेदों में ना ही कोई इतिहास है और ना ही कोई खास समय पर घटी हुई घटनाओं का वर्णन| वेदों में केवल मूल ज्ञान और सिद्धांतों का समावेश है|
११. कई लोगों का मानना है के अग्निवीर भी आर्य समाज जैसी ही कोई एक संस्था है| पर यह सत्य नहीं है| आज के समय के आर्य समाज के नेताओं के गलत मार्ग अपनाने के कारण आज “आर्य समाज” शब्द अपना मूल अर्थ खो चुका है| पर दयानंद सरस्वती, जो हमारे आदर्श हैं, द्वारा विस्तारपूर्वक प्रस्तुत किए गए आर्य समाज के मूल लक्ष्य के साथ हम एकमत है| इसलिए अगर आप केवल आर्य समाज के सही अर्थ और मूल लक्ष्य को ध्यान में रख कर हमें देखतें है तो हाँ हम “आर्य समाजी” हैं| पर अगर आप हमें आर्य समाज जैसी कोई संस्था के रूप में देखते हैं तो हम “आर्य समाजी” नहीं हैं| इसलिए इस विरोधाभास से दूर रहने के लिए हम “आर्य”, “वैदिक” या फिर “अग्निवीर” के नाम से पहचाने जाना ज्यादा पसंद करते हैं|
१२. अग्निवीर संकुचित मनोवृत्ति में विश्वास नहीं रखता| हम ऐसा दावा कभी नहीं करते कि हमारे वचन ही ईश्वर के अंतिम वचन हैं| इसलिए हम खुले मन से सभी बुद्धिजीवीयों को मुक्त रूप से अपने विचार व्यक्त करने के लिए आमंत्रित करते हैं| परन्तु हम जन्म पर आधारित जाति-व्यवस्था, स्त्री हीनता का समर्थन और अपमानजनक टिप्पणियों, इन तीन विषयों पर चर्चा कर समय की बर्बादी करना नहीं चाहते|
१३. आलोचना का अर्थ द्वेष या तिरस्कार नहीं है| हम थोड़े बहुत मतभेदों के कारण अपने माता-पिता और भाई-बहनों के साथ वाद-विवाद करते रहते हैं| और यह स्वाभाविक भी है| पर उसका अर्थ ये नहीं है कि हम अपने परिवारजनों के साथ द्वेषभाव या बैर रखते है| ठीक उसी तरह, आज हमारे पास बड़ी मात्रा में ऐसे लेखों का संग्रह है जो आज की प्रचलित मान्यताओं पर कई सवाल उठाते है| पर हमारी लोगों से विनती है कि ऐसे लेख लिखने के पीछे हमारा उद्देश्य द्वेष या तिरस्कार है ऐसा न मानें|
१४. हां, हम सुधार और परिवर्तन के मार्ग पर हैं| हम इसे “शुद्धि आंदोलन” कहते है| हम सभी लोगों से वैदिक धर्म का स्वीकार कर अपने जीवन में उसका आचरण करने का वचन माँगते है| हम वैदिक धर्म का आचरण करते है, और आगे भी अधिक एकाग्रता और दृढ़ मन से करेंगे| वैदिक धर्म का स्वीकार करने में जाति, संप्रदाय या लिंग का कोई बंधन नहीं है| हम हिंदू, मुस्लिम या फ़िर ईसाई धर्मो को मानने वाले सभी लोगों को, मानवजाति के कल्याण के लिए और स्वयं को शांति, एकता, चरित्र और कर्त्तव्य पालन का आदर्श बनाने के लिए वैदिक धर्म स्वीकार करने को आमंत्रित करते हैं| यह प्रक्रिया असीमित सफलता, प्रतिभा, सुख, जोश, उत्साह, समृद्धि और जीवन के लक्ष्य का द्वार खोलेंगी|
१५. अग्निवीर ना ही कोई एक व्यक्ति है या ना ही कोई व्यक्तियों का समुदाय| अग्निवीर एक विचारधारा है| हम बार-बार “मैं” और “हम” को मिलाते रहते है| क्योंकि हम विचारधाराओं के मेल में विश्वास रखते हैं| “मैं” और “हम” एक ही हैं, उनमें केवल शाब्दिक भिन्नता है| अगर आप हमारे स्वप्न और लक्ष्य के साथ सहमत हैं, तो आप भी हमारे लिए अग्निवीर ही हैं|
हमारी विनती है कि आप अग्निवीर के विषयों को उसके पूरे सन्दर्भ में देखें| आप हम से थोड़े बहुत या पूर्ण रूप से सहमत या असहमत हो सकते हैं| पर केवल इस कारण से बौद्धिक मतभेदों को भावनाओं के मतभेदों में परिवर्तित न होने दें| समग्र मानवजाति हमारे लिए एक परिवार समान है|
हम कभी भी एक दूसरे के प्रति द्वेष न रखें|
हम कभी भी एक दूसरे का बुरा न चाहें|
हम कभी भी एक दूसरे की निंदा न करे और एक दूसरे पर दोष न लगाएं|
हम एक दूसरे से भिन्न होकर भी एक दूसरे के कल्याण की ही कामना करें|
हम परिपक्व बन के बिना शत्रुता के अपने आपको अभिव्यक्त कर सकें|
हम एक परिवार की ही तरह मिलजुल कर रहें और उसका आनंद उठाएं|
जैसे गाय अपने बछड़े को प्रेम करती है ठीक उसी प्रकार हम भी एक दूसरे से प्रेम करते रहें|
शांति, सहनशीलता, सत्य और परस्पर सहयोग हमारे शस्त्र बनें|
सर्वथा शांति की स्थापना हो|

Obviously such bullies/ forces can not be wished away in “सर्वथा शांति की स्थापना हो| ॐ शांति शांति शांति!” It obviously sounds wonderful when you say there should NOT be caste or gender or color based discrimination. BUT what is your stand when some agniveer (victim) confronts discriminating bully who is inimical to philosophical rant??? These forces are REAL, are all pervading. Each one of us have to face these daily. Silence of agniveer on such an important issue is puzzling. WHERE DOES AGNIVEER (victim) STAND WHEN CONFRONTED WITH SUCH FORCES???

Answers to your questions above,
a) Vedas believe in one God whom sages may call by different names.
b) I do not know what you meant by ‘pagan’ . So let me use Merriam-Webster dictionary which gives two possible definitions.
1. a follower of a polytheistic religion (as in ancient Rome)- By this definition neither Vedic religion nor Islam are pagan.
2. one who has little or no religion and who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods : an irreligious or hedonistic person- Vedic religion focuses on Yam and Niyam, self control, etc. so cannot be a pagan. Islam, with its founder himself involved in all sensual pleasures can be called as a pagan cult by this definition.
c) Vedas do not have these words ‘idol worship’.
Hello Saman, I would like to address your specific question on idol worship. Idol worship can be classified to be of two types: –
a. Attributing divinity to the idol and worshiping the attributed divinity in an idol – This practice is done by all religions and faiths today. For example, why do churches have images of Jesus Christ or pray to crosses or string a cross as pendants and charms. How many statues of Mother Mary are in and around Christian establishments, which people pray to and worship. Even in islam, you revere a mosque, the quran, the prophet (remember, he is not god only someone who brought message from god according to your beliefs), the kaaba, sufi darbars. In fact you have to point towards mecca when praying, only because you have personified divinity in that physical object and location. Even the jews or buddhists or sikhs or jains attribute divinity to physical objects.
Similarly, Hindus attribute divine features to idols. The interesting concept here is, we attribute divinity to every aspect to our lives, be it education (Maa Saraswati), sacred feminine & motherhood (Maa Durga), prosperity (Shri Ganesha) and so on and so forth.
There is nothing wrong with this approach (which you, I and everyone takes knowingly or unknowingly), because to grasp the mind boggling concepts of creation and our creator we have to take in the divine knowledge in parts or in certain aspects. This is no different from how scientists try to comprehend the secrets of nature. They will always investigate the functioning of nature by splitting it into parts (as in physics, biology, chemistry, space exploration, mathematics, string theory and so on). An indepth investigation and study by specialized people in specific fields help humanity as a whole understand and unravel the secrets and the codes of how our physical world comes into being.
b. The second form of idol worship is where you worship the object itself. This would be akin to someone who worships an idol’s physical substance rather than the spiritual concept it represents. This is the worship where you go to a temple and say ‘O’ stone idol I worship you…’ or you take a picture of a god and worship the frame and the paper it is printed on. This is something most humans do not do. For example, when you read a book, you don’t read it for the papers, but for the knowledge contained in it. If you are only feeling and looking at the pages contained within, the book is of no use to you. Like I just said, most of the spiritually inclined and sane people from any religion would never do this. This is not to say that I abhor this practice…if someone finds peace in saying ‘O’ piece of wood, I pray to thee and bless me’…I say, tathastu…. 🙂
We are still doing the wrong things. We are not trying to learn and use the things our old man left for us. What we do is fighting for the situations which do not exists in which conditions there words had meanings. We need to extract and show the things in practical way for betterment of society, rising above the religion or cast.
@Rajiv, I agree that we should go beyond religion and caste. But there may be differences in the approaches to reach there. Let me point out what I believe to be negatives in the three alternative approaches to reform:
1. Dayanand and Shradhdhanand believed in calling spade a spade and both lost their life in their efforts. Still, their approach of talking truth, however bitter, reduced the number of people joining their efforts and all our political parties dumped them.
2. Gandhi believed in following one of his 3 monkeys and closing mouth shut when it comes to speaking bitter truth. This helped him become ‘Mahatma’ but it also ensured breeding of fanatics from other religions.
3. Vivekanada’s approach seemed to be similar to Gandhi, he seemed to believe in soft criticism, sometimes using Abrahamic scriptures to explain Advait Vedanta. But this is often misunderstood to be his endorsement of those faiths. If you go on Christian evangelist websites you will find a lot of quotes from Vivekanada to make you believe that he endorsed Christ. If the scope of the mission is worldwide, as in the case of Agniveer, I agree that becoming Gandhi’s monkey may be necessary until fanatics begin to breed again. I neither oppose nor endorse one approach over the other so long as all are aware of negatives of them and the ultimate intention is good.
