Learn Sanskrit Month 13 – 14

Thirteenth and Fourteenth installment of the course.

Routine reiteration:

a. Do not get too bogged down by grammar and usage while you learn Sanskrit. Often Sanskrit is considered to be all about mugging up lots of declensions and conjugations and this fears off most students. Instead take is as a natural language. Feel free to make the most blatant grammatical errors so far you are able to convey your message. Develop a feel for the language instead of thinking about grammar.

How did we learn Hindi or English or our mother tongue? Did we learn grammar first or language first? And do we speak these languages in a grammatically correct fashion even today? Why burden Sanskrit with overdose of grammar in very beginning then?

Simply start talking on every other thing in Sanskrit and enjoy the funny pronunciations you make or blatant errors you make in grammar. Have a laugh on that and simply continue. Soon you will develop a natural grip over the language and grammar will be automatically taken care of.

b. Try using Sanskrit words even in your mother language. After all Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. Let the children associate with their Mom and have their foundations strengthened! And in process, your road to mastery of Sanskrit will also be traversed faster.

c. Download a copy of Introduction to Vedas (Hindi) from http://agniveer.com/2045/introduction-to-vedas/ if you know Hindi. This is an amazing text not only to understand Vedic concepts but learn Sanskrit naturally. Because most sections of the book are presented in very simple Sanskrit as well as Hindi. In some sections there are deviations in Sanskrit and Hindi message and it would be a good idea to explore those areas and form the right opinion!

    http://commonworldinheritage.blogspot.com/
both are managed by same guy.

as always keep up the gudwork

  2. Agni Veer – What a strange, that you know that this is such a waste or a sin story and you are posting on such an important site.
    Alhamdulillah (All praise to ALLAH).
You will not find unwanted / taboo thing on IRF site INSHA’ALLAH (If ALLAH will).
I pray for your clear, true and pure knowledge from ALLAH. Ameen.

    • Well, Rizwan brother, there is one thing we must understand. Agniveer at this stage is actually hated by many. One such hater might be a computer jerk. He hacked Agniveer’s account and made such senseless comments. This does not matches with the commenting style of Agniveer. Agniveer nowhere mentioned that abusive story and this proves that some deceiver conspired against Agniveer. Whomsoever he might be, ALLAH will punish him. If indeed Agniveer is wrong, Allah will punish him and if some hacker held a conspiracy against poor Agniveer, Allah will punish him too. Allah loves justice to the max.

I have made some criteria to decide what is truth and what isn’t. Simple: First read – What does Agniveer stand for and then filter out every comment / article whether it violates that OR not. If it does not violate, that is real opinion and if it actually does (just like this article), then conspired. Since this is Urdu article and Agniveer is not confident in typing Urdu, I think some Muslim did it. Whomsoever be the culprit, Allah will punish him.

NEVERTHELESS, MAY TRUTH AND PEACE PREVAIL EVERYWHERE…

    • Thanks for bringing this into notice. Some spammers are posting abusive vulgar comments in name of Agniveer on the site. The current one is from USA. While we shall keep cleaning the site of stupid comments, we hope the mature visitors would be able to easily identify which comments are bogus and which are genuine.

This particular comment from Rizwanji from IRF does smell of Taqiah though. The language is too artificial to be genuine, we believe. Feel free to correct us if we are wrong.

First, someone posts abusive comments in fake name of Agniveer, and then someone else compares it with IRF to do some marketing! They forget that IRF site does not have any comment feature in first place.

Anyways, we request cooperation of our visitors to manage onslaught of spammers.

      • Agniveer Sir,
        Namaskaar!
I know that you value the right to freedom of speech but that right looks like an obligation for you. That is what is proving troublesome for your website. Why not you define some criteria? All spams can be accordingly deleted. One thing which many do is to have moderation enabled. Once comments get reviewed and moderated, possibility of spam is reduced. Other methodologies include strengthening the server. Someone tried to hack your account so, you need to beware. Making the system more secure will help you getting rid of vulgar comments.

Also, answer this question. It has confused many.

        Thank you…

      • Dhanyavad for your kind advice. We would like to state that spam is an issue facing entire blogging world so we are not alone in this challenge. We have the best of tools for spam management but a few comments may still leak out. The recent attacks were not technically spam attacks but actual humans posting vulgar messages using a similar name and email address in contact form to create confusion. This cannot be dealt through spam management. We do not want to enable moderated commenting as that discourages discussions, however if things go beyond control, we may be forced to adopt that. Meanwhile we are mulling use of third-party commenting systems that require registration with either of google, facebook, twitter, openid, yahoo etc. We are currently testing the features. Till then we shall be manually moderating any comments that are deceptive to malign Agniveer image.

  3. namaste agniveer ji,
how about implementing a rating system. comments which get -ve ratings should be put under moderation. and after going thru these -ve ones , we have to decide to delete them or not. also we can put spam button to give choice to readers mark what is spam and what is not .to me this seems to be the best way to put away the spam content.

    regards.

  4. Namaste Agniveer ji,
The previous part’s link (Sanskrut Lesson 54 – Month 13) is not working…The comment section is also not available.Could you please fix that…..

    • Namaskaar Sir,

happy holi. The link is well working. There might be some problem with condition of traffic. So, try again later OR change the browser. I just checked it and it is working.

Regarding, comment section, I don’t know why but Agniveer has reduced the chances of commenting. You can notice that many webpages don’t support new comments. That’s an issue but they are working on it.
