Punishment for Blasphemy

It is possible that this post is based on the translations and commentaries of Islamic texts like Quran, Hadiths etc. as published by all major Islamic publishing sources. These are the publicly available translations that are used for promotion of Islam by prominent representatives.

We, however, believe that most of these texts have been wrongly translated, misinterpreted, misquoted or even have been tampered with and interpolated to suit the selfish designs of proponents of Islam after Muhammad. Thus, we believe that original Islam and original Quran of Muhammad are totally different from what have been propagated by his followers in name of Islam. There are few minority groups in Muslims whose scholars subscribe to our views and interpret/translate Islamic texts differently or even refuse to consider the available Quran and Hadiths as authentic. But these scholars themselves are considered Kafirs and are condemned by a dominant elite group of Islam. Thus, when we refer to Islam, we actually imply these dominant elites of Islam and not Muslims or all Islamic scholars in general.

Wherever we critically evaluate Muhammad, we imply the fictitious Muhammad propagated by these false texts or their wrong translations and not the original Muhammad. We have high regard for original Muhammad who stood for non-violence and tolerance. Similarly, when we analyze Islamic texts, we refer to these questionable translations/versions and NOT original texts.

Further, we have a sense of the highest level of brotherhood for Muslims in general. Wherever we use the word Muslim in a critical manner, it refers to false representatives of Islam and not Muslims in general. Readers are requested to keep this in mind to understand the correct perspective of such posts on this website.

Nowhere should they assume the words like Islam, Quran, Prophet etc. to be referring to original noble entities, unless it has been referred in a positive light. We restrict ourselves only to notions prevalent in minds of fanatics and those without reason.

Zakir Naik Exposed

Last week we published an article condemning the glorification of assassination of Governor of Punjab in Pakistan. In the aftermath of the incident, many a vocal supporters of the assassin have hailed this murder as a great example and reaffirmation of the revival of Islamic era of middle ages. Some even commented on this site. However a small minority of moderate Muslims have also condemned the murder as against spirit of Islam.
On Jan 10, 2011, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan published an article Blasphemy and the Islamic way in Times of India that asserted that “Blasphemy law has no basis in Islam”. We offer our sincerest accolades to Maulana for his attempt to delineate Islam from intolerance and cold-blooded fanaticism. In spirit of Vedic tolerance, the peace-loving Maulana claims that “To use abusive language against the Prophet or to praise him are both a matter of one’s own choice. Whatever the choice, it is in God’s domain to pass judgment on it. Muslims have nothing to do in this situation except try to remove the misunderstanding and then leave the rest to God…..Islam suggests capital punishment for only one offence, and that is murder.”
We pray for long life of such peace-loving Muslims. However if his assertions are indeed true, then there is something grossly wrong with Islam as it is known, practiced and propagated in entire world. We would like Maulana to share his thoughts (clear and unambiguous) on following:
a. There is hardly a Muslim dominated country that does not have a blasphemy law. Does the Maulana imply that ALL these countries and ALL the representatives of Islam in these countries are following a wrong Islam or are NOT Islamic at all?
b. If that be true then the claim of Islam being the fastest growing religion is also wrong. Because when Islam stands for peace, how can anyone supporting blasphemy law amounting to death of non-believer be a Muslim in first place? Will the Maulana state his clear views on this?
c. Zakir Naik – the latest prophet of Islam (here from Islam we mean the ideology which Zakir and his followers claim to follow. We should call it rather Zakirism, a new sect within Islam which glorifies Yazeed, which advocates apostate killing, which copy the content from Qadiyani books without acknowledging and so on..), who is considered essential by many to understand the Prophet of Allah – has clearly divergent views on blasphemy. He states (refer http://www.islamicvoice.com/April2006/QuestionHour-DrZakirNaik/ ):
“The punishment for blasphemy in most of the major religions is death. It is stated in the Old Testament of the Bible, which is the authority for both the Jews and the Christians: And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: [Book of Leviticus 24:16]

Moreover, if we read Manusmriti, the Law book of the Hindus, it says: “If a man born of a lower class intentionally bothers a priest, the king should punish him physically with various forms of corporal and capital punishment that make men shudder.” [Manusmriti 9:248]

Regarding the punishment for blasphemy in Islam, it is mentioned in the Glorious Qur’an: “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;” [Surah Al-Maidah 5:33]. In Islam, a person who has committed blasphemy can either be killed or crucified, or his opposite hands and feet can be cut off, or he can be exiled from that land. On the other hand, in other religions there is no other option except capital punishment. Islam at least has four options of punishment for an act of blasphemy.”
As with all of Zakir Naik’s works, this work is also full of blatant loopholes and errors. Let us review that:
– He claims in last sentence that except Islam, all religions propose only death sentence for blasphemy. However the verse from Manusmriti that he gives suggests corporal and capital punishment. Corporal means physical punishment like beating and caning not amounting to death or permanent damage to organs. Thus he himself proves that his claim on Manusmriti is wrong.
– Further, what he has presented is a verse from adulterated Manusmriti which is neither followed nor considered authentic by any scholar. We very clearly reject the verse as against Vedas and baseless. Will Zakir Naik adopt the same standard for the verse from Quran that he presented by rejecting it?
No, he will not. Because he is among those fanatics who justify death for blasphemy.
– His views on Old Testament may be right. After all Testaments were also brutal texts and hence not followed by Christians and Jews themselves today! And we believe that it has been source of intolerance in world today. But can he cite even a single verse of this nature from Vedas – the sole authority for Hindus?
– Zakir says that “Islam at least has four options of punishment for an act of blasphemy”. Just gauge the heights of his perversion. Of the 4 options – two are crucification and killing. This is like saying two options are murder and assassination! The third option is even worse than death – cutting all the limbs. The most humane option is to exile him in hot desert and allow nature to kill him!
But the bottomline is that Zakir Naik believes that some sort of punishment MUST be given for blasphemy which if not death is worse than death.
Coming back to Maulana, will he clearly and unambiguously condemn Zakir Naik for his stand which is completely opposite to humanistic stand of Maulana? Will he warn Muslims to not follow Zakir if they want to follow Islam? We would request Maulana to do so if he is sincerely dreaming of a peaceful Islam.
d. Maulana states that: “In the Islamic scriptures, the Quran and the Hadith, there is no such injunction to deliver physical punishment to one who commits blasphemy.”
Now what would be Maulana’s stand if we indeed show such verses in Quran and Hadith? And we shall show for non-believers in general.For example:
– One verse has been presented by our Zakir Bhai himself as mentioned above. This is Quran 5.33.
Now some more:
– Sahih Muslim Book 19, Number 4292: Ibn ‘Aun reported: I wrote to Nafi’ inquiring from him whether it was necessary to extend (to the disbelievers) an invitation to accept (Islam) before meeting them in fight. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) made a raid upon Banu Mustaliq while they were unaware and their cattle were having a drink at the water. He killed those who fought and imprisoned others. On that very day, he captured Juwairiya bint al-Harith. Nafi’ said that this tradition was related to him by Abdullah b. Umar who (himself) was among the raiding troops.
– Book 19, Number 4293: This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Aun and the name of Juwairiya bint al-Harith was mentioned beyond any doubt.
– Book 19, Number 4321: It is reported on the authority of Sa’b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.
– Book 19, Number 4322: It is narrated by Sa’b b. Jaththama that he said (to the Holy Prophet): Messenger of Allah, we kill the children of the polytheists during the night raids. He said: They are from them.
– Book 19, Number 4323: Sa’b b. Jaththama has narrated that the Prophet (may peace be upon him) asked: What about the children of polytheists killed by the cavalry during the night raid? He said: They are from them.
– Book 16, Number 4154: ‘Abdullah (b. Mas’ud) reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stood up and said : By Him besides Whom there is no god but He, the blood of a Muslim who bears the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and I am His Messenger, may be lawfully shed only in case of three persons: the one who abandons Islam, and deserts the community [Ahmad, one of the narrators, is doubtful whether the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) used the word li’l-jama’ah or al-jama’ah), and the married adulterer, and life for life.
Punishment-for-Blasphemy
The definition of Islam is given in an earlier hadith:
– Book 16, Number 4152: ‘Abdullah (b. Mas’ud) reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying : It is not permissible to take the life of a Muslim who bears testimony (to the fact that there is no god but Allah, and I am the Messenger of Allah, but in one of the three cases: the married adulterer, a life for life, and the deserter of his Din (Islam), abandoning the community.
– Sahih Bukhari, Book 38, Number 4390: Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi: I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had notwere not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.
– Quran 9:5: Then, when the sacred months have passed — that is, [at] the end of the period of deferment — slay the idolaters wherever you find them, be it during a lawful [period] or a sacred [one], and take them, captive, and confine them, to castles and forts, until they have no choice except [being put to] death or [acceptance of] Islam; and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush, [at every] route that they use (kulla, ‘every’, is in the accusative because a [preceding] genitive-taking preposition has been removed). But if they repent, of unbelief, and establish prayer and pay the alms, then leave their way free, and do not interfere with them. God is Forgiving, Merciful, to those who repent. (Jalalyan)
– Quran 3.28 forbids Muslims to trust non-Muslims. It says: “Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers, etc.) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment), and to Allah is the final return.” How can then words of a Muslim in a non-Muslim country be taken at face value?
We have only provided a small sample. The modern Quran and Hadiths are replete with such references. And mind you, we have not created these translations. These are the ones published, circulated, propagated by various Muslim bodies themselves, including Zakir Naik.

Thus, will the Maulana assert that,
either
1. He rejects these verses of Quran and Hadiths as false and believes that there is no place for such verses in Islam
or,
2. He asserts that these verses have been wrongly translated. In that case, the translators of these verses have done greatest damage to Islam.
In the 2nd case, should he not lead a movement for ban on such translations of Quran? (these being perhaps the ONLY translations of Quran and Hadiths available in market today) Note that it is these translations that are causing greatest damage to cause of ‘peaceful’ Islam. Would he condemn all those people and publishers who endorse these translations?
Our stand is clear:
We appreciate the peaceful vision of Maulana. But mere words would not suffice. he should now take a step ahead,
clearly condemn likes of Zakir Naik,
clearly reject either objectionable verses of Quran and Hadiths, or their translations as available today
present alternative translations in case of latter,
and condemn all the countries and people who justify blasphemy laws as anti-Islamic.
We would like to join the Maulana in this noble mission.
One more issue, before we end the article:
e. Maulana states that: “This law was only made during the Abbasid period and is an expression of the imperatives of that period. At that time, the Muslims had established their empire and were in political supremacy. Due to their sense of pride at having accomplished this, they made such a law. But it was a clear innovation. And according to the Hadith, every innovation in the religion of Islam must needs be rejected.”
Would he also explain the following:
– If Blasphemy law was only made during Abbasid period, how come all the first few Caliphs who came at least 200 years before Abbasid dynasty killed in name of peaceful Islam? And how could dynasty of killer of the grandsons of Muhammad be allowed to lead Islam for 200 years? If killing of every other person in name of Islam was legitimized since the very first Caliph, how can one assert that specific law of against blasphemy was made only 200 years later. Especially when Quran and Hadiths also clearly mention it?

In summary, Muhammad himself is suspected to be murdered by his wife. Second Caliph Umar was also murdered. Then caliph Uthman who had the Quran compiled and given its name for first time was murdered by son of Abu Bakr while he was reading Quran. Then Ali, next Caliph, was also murdered. Some scholars say that Aisha – arch enemy of Ali and wife of Muhammad – was also murdered. Hassan, son of Ali and grandson of Muhammad was murdered. Then his brother Hussain was murdered in battle of Karbala. Even the innocent Sakina was not spared and killed ruthlessly. The killers started the Umayed Caliphate dynasty which then represented Islam. Thus actual Islam, as we know today, began only after all the closed ones and relatives of Muhammad was murdered one after another. Even the original Quran (compiled 20 years after Muhammad’s death) is not available today.
– In such a situation, how can one even trust the current Quran to be true and same as what Muhammad (supposed to be illiterate by Muslim scholars) wanted to give? Of course, nowadays, all intellectual scholars completely reject the Hadiths (deeds of Muhammad) as fraudulent texts. But fanatic Muslims swear by its name because only Hadiths give the stamp of intolerance that modern Islam is famed to have. And moderate Muslims fear to take panga with the fanatic perverts!
We thus request Maulana, to shed light on these critical issues so that he can lead the utterly victimized Muslim population – disgraced by deeds and words of their fanatic Mullahs and popular representatives like Zakir Naik – towards respect and trust they truly deserve. And in process display that Maulana stands for truth and truth alone, and would be always eager to reject falsehood immediately in true spirit of humanity.
We would also like to see how many mainstream Islamic schools – like Darul Uloom Deoband and Islamic research Foundation – condemn the killing in name of blasphemy and logically explain the issues raised in this article in unambiguous terms (assuming they have the caliber and intent to use logic). If they do not, they are simply fooling the Muslim population for their selfish and perverted desires. And turning world into hell in process.
May all those beliefs and believers go to Hell who believe that all non-believers will go to Hell…forever!
And all peaceful forces of world unite together to promote religion of universal humanism regardless of whether we are Hindu, Muslim, Christian or anything else.

I regularly read your posts articles on different religion on different religions specially on muslims and koran. We two religion (vast) have been leaving aside nearly a millennium having a wall between even we share a same culture, language society. The analysis of vedas, geeta and koran let us know where is the problem. after knowing about koran in this site I tried to know about it. Many things are blar and confusing if I ask any muslim their answer is quite illogical and forceful.
      **The starting of koran is confusing to me. The very first verse starts with “READ in the name of your lord”
      But what to read. Arabs had no other texts before islam. The bible, Taorat, or other book muslim refuse to believe because there is no mention of muhammad in those. (and even allah) so there is no logic to read them. The koran compiled after 20 years of mohammad’s death as a text. Then why did koran started saying read when there were no readable thing for muslims. How could they read it before compiling even before cast on muhammad.

      • So, I have a question. As a Christian, I am very interested in knowing when and how the Bible was distorted. I often hear the claim that “The Bible is no good because the people who kept watch over it didn’t have the knowledge/technology to keep it succinct with what God said.” Of course, whenever I hear this, I have to wonder–if it’s possible for a 12 year old to memorize the Qoran, then how is it not possible for those who kept the law to either memorize it verbatim or come up with a way to record and protect that which is in the Bible even today?

  4. Maulana’s words have no value at all as he is just a face saver of islam. Any representative of islam such as maulana/mulla/islamic-scholars etc are highly cunning people. They always give such types of pacifying statements to foll the non-muslims whenever a group of fanatic muslims creates extreme terror by brutally killing/torturing those who do not act in the way muslims want.
    As muslim think-tank know well that the act of killing/torture by muslims will cause disgrace to muslims and non-muslims might start hating muslims and try to retaliate. By their past experiences, they also know well that muslims are sure to get defeated badly and suffer huge damage if the non-muslims would retaliate. Hence, that group of cunning muslims would strategically try to do the damage-control in a clever way, save the image of islam and brainwash non-muslims in favor of islam by loosely saying that the act of killing/torture was actually done by some fanatics against the spirit of so called peaceful islam.
    Note that both the groups mentioned above are equally fanatic in reality. They secretly support one-another and do their best to terrorize people who don’t respect islam. One uses gun and sword, and the other uses cleaver twists of false statements. One commits brutality, and the other safeguards him by using deceitful diplomacy. The Maulana simply belongs to the second group of muslims. It will be quite wrong to believe that the Maulana is a peace loving person just due to his dry statement.
    Any peace loving logical minded person would no longer remain a muslim, and prefer to leave islam as soon as possible in stead of defending koran/sharia/hadith/muhammad by giving dry logic that are totally inconsistent with what almost all muslims do in practice.
    I fully agree with Ali Sina of faithfreedom.org who is of the opinion that no moderate muslim exists on this earth. A muslims is either a terrorist or a potential terrorist due to following the inhumane teachings of Muhammad/Koran/Sharia/Hadith either aggressively or even loosely . So, any muslim cannot be trusted as long as he/she continues to be a muslim. Only a genuine ex-muslims can be trusted. However, one must beware of fake ex-muslims (such as Obama) as he/she might be doing taqaiyah (cheating) to fool the non-muslims.
    How can a logical minded person having humanist way of thinking continue to a be muslim as islam allows
    (1) a muslim man to marry up to 4 ladies at a time and divorce any or all of them just by uttering “talaq” few times and then become eligible for marrying other ladies. He is not required to even to give any sort of support to the divorced wife for the livelihood in the rest of her life.
    (2) wife beating as a right of husband.
    (3) the dangerous concept of islamic brotherhood, that is, giving more importance to islam than to one’s country —allowing to betray one’s country and fellow citizens for the cause of islam.
    (4) killing a muslim who leaves islam.
    (5) killing a muslim girl/lady who marries a non-muslim guy, but always crave for the opposite.
    (6) killing or brutally torturing those who criticizes and questions the illogical, anti-humane and anti-women rules of islam/ kuran/ muhammad/ sharia.
    (7) lying or cheating (taqaiyah) to fool non-muslims whenever required.
    (8) cut the limbs of a thief.
    (9) requiring minimum 4 eye-witnesses to prove the rape charges, else beating the rape victim and complainant with hundreds of lashes if she fails to produce the desired number of eye-witnesses.
    (10) forcing ladies for hijab/ burqa from top to toe.
    (11) produce countless number of children from every muslim lady just to increase the head counts and blind supporters/ fighters of islam. It creates chaos and scarcity of all types of resources.
    (12) generalizing that all women are less intelligent than men and hence witnesses of two women equals witness of one man.
    (13) raping a virgin girl as an official formality to make her non-virgin if she is to be given death penalty.
    (14) superstitiously considering muhammad as an ideal and perfect man, and kuran an ideal book. Also to foolishly believe in the concept of imaginary allah, angel, heaven, hell, judgment-day without raising any doubt against these.
    (15) love-jehad, muslim men seducing non-muslim girls in their love-trap, convert them to islam, marry them and produce so many children from them who would repeat the process.
    (16) many more nonsense, illogical, barbaric, deceitful, unethical and inhumane rules/practices.
    If any person supports any of the above islamic rules/practices either openly or silently, then his/her claim to be a moderate/peace loving person is just a hypocrisy, lie, deceit and cheating. If a person is a muslim, then he/she definitely supports one or more or all of the above rules, at least silently. So, he/she cannot be trusted.

        recently I got a phone call from a place called Salam centre in bangalore, they were asking me if i would be interested in reading quran in my own language….later on i found out they have a complete infrastructure build where they have setup a call centre aimed only at conversions and they have multiple distribution centres….. where ever there is a public gathering, these guys are distributing qurans in thousands per day and this is happening all over karnataka…. while our bull shit BJP CM is busy with his scams and petty fight with congress, here these guys are using the oppurtunity to force people convert, in fact day before yesterday i met a recent convert, that guy had no clue why he got converted but fact was he was converted (including circumsizing)…my only concern is generally the people who get converted are very weak in mind and likely to be brainwashed to take up anti social activities…. do you know where i can complain on this salam “conversion” center?. incidently the Mr Nayak is also part of this salam”gulam” centre……

        This is the way they follow to do conversion. My personal experience. I was walking along side the road in Hyderabad. Two guys came to me and asked me that ‘you can develop Personality up by visiting a place’ they mentioned a address to visit. I visited the place next day as promised by me. After reaching there, i found so many people are there and each one is assigned to one more person. Immediately they started reading Bible and quotes verses against Idol worshiping and asking me, not to visit temples and start to believe in Jesus. But I was strong at my mind that Hinduism is Sarvotham. So I rejected him. After few days I noticed one person who came on that days along with me, was going to Church near area. So brother what i understand is they will ask so many people to come and some of them will fall into their trap. Beware of these cults.
        But now because of Agniveer Team. Now I can convert them and bring the converted back to the truth. Please spread the agniveer message to all your contacts

What this fellow “fanatic” Zakir does is that he works at the “sub-conscious” level creating an ILLUSION, a feel good effect on his audience. Human are inherently “troubled” for some reason or the other, we are NOT satisfied with our lives AND it is here that our brain starts working sub-consciously– Brain starts searching for SOOTHING “alternatives”.     Hinduism like all other non-Christian religions accept various ideas of “God” and cannot define a true saving relationship with the God of heaven and creator of us all.
    Nobody needs to save anyone else from anything. So, get over your obsession with some “Son” of God and his dying to save us from sins and all such crap.
    In any case, Christianity and Islam are two sides of the same bigoted coin. Both preach/believe in eternal hell for non-believers of the self-proclaimed exclusivity of their respective prophets.
    Save your proselytizing for the uneducated.

    On the other hand, the jaunty Islamists of Bangladesh are now in full swing to invade the Hindu temples including looting stealthily the national temple of Bangladesh like Dhakeswari Temple which has a heritage status.
    Reports revel that :
    “Hindus in Bangladesh are in shock following the suspension of worship at the capital’s Dhakeshwari National Temple, the most important place of worship for the minority community in the country, after a theft on Sun Jan 09 2011.
    Gold (About 200 bhori – 1 Bhori = 0.34 ounce) ornaments, and silver ornaments (five-six bhori) and Taka 4.5 lakh have been stolen from the temple, said Tapan Bhattacharya, the in-charge of the state-owned Dhakeshwari Temple.
    Worship at the ancient Dhakeswari National Temple has been suspended for an indefinite period following the theft, the private bdnews24 online reported today.
    Known as the ‘National Temple’, Dhakeshwari means “Goddess of Dhaka”.
    Babul Devnath, the Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan Worship Committee, expressed deep concern over the incident as it was the third major temple where theft has taken place in less than a month. The Hindus in the country are in shock.
    “A theft took place at Baradeswari Kali Temple on December 12 and another at Jaykali Temple on December 22. We demand proper investigations into all these incidents,” he was quoted as saying in the report.
    Bhattacharya said Ratan Chakrawarty and Nitya Gopal Chakrawarty, the priets at Dhakeswari, had locked the temple around 9 p.m. on Saturday.
    Around 6 a.m. today they found three of the four locks missing, while the remaining one was broken.
    Mohammad Khurshid Alam, the Deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said they had launched a probe into the theft.
    Hinduism is the second largest religion in the country, constituting nearly 10 per cent of the population.
    There are over 12 lakh Hindus in Bangladesh.”
    Though some minority forums like HRCBM (Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities), BDMW (Bangladesh Minority Watch), BHBCUC (Bangladesh Hindu Bauddha Christian Unity Council-USA) and others are trying hard to address the constraints before Hindus as an existential threat and put their demands to the respective Govts, in Bangladesh time to time, the general scenario for the trailing Hindus go worse day by day.
    A recent report of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) and National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPRT) reveals that Hindu population has been decreased in Bangladesh region by 24% as it was 31% in 1901 and stands at a meager 9.3% in the latest census of Bangladesh. The report pointed the salient causes of onslaught of minority Hindus due to post election violence in 2001 in recent caused a mass evacuation of Hindus from their homeland and compelled to leave the country under the tantamount pressure of ransom, infringing religious rights, destruction of their properties, encroaching lands, physical torture, arson, molestation, rape, abduction, even pressurised conversion and so on. In such strangulation the reproduction rates of Hindus in Bangladesh came down and the immigration rates are high.
    From another source it is evident that some 100 destruction of temples and over 300 registered cases of abduction-molestation-rape of Hindu women and minor girls earmarked 2010 as hopeless situation also from the new vendors of secularism in Bangladesh.
    This kind of shameless burglary in a highest Hindu Temple declared as ”Sree Sree Dhakeswari Jatiyo Mandir” (National Temple) amidst a high security police arrangements created much confusion in all quarters including a bitter repercussion throughout Bangladeshi Hindus and also in neighboring India.
    Senior reporter Mr. Basudev Dhar of Danik Statesman, Kolkata reports in its first page from Dhaka that the burglary was so designed only to harass the minorities in Bangladesh. The Temple authority has already covered the front of deity with a white cloth and suspended the formal puja for an indefinite period as a protest. Meantime the daily puja shall be made through the rituals before a ‘holy pitcher’. The Hindu minority leaders of Bangladesh including the Co-ordination Committee of Bangladesh Sarbajonin Durgotsav jointly declared a ‘human-chain’ programme on Wednesday on in every where in Bangladesh as a mark of protest. Hindu leaders of Bangladesh have vehemently criticized the inaction of the present Govt. to take proper action to protect the property, prosperity and dignity of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. They pointed out the every onslaught upon the Hindus in Bangladesh aiming to drive them away by hook or crook.
    The Deputy Home Minister of Bangladesh Samsul Haque Tuku (Awami League) visited the Dhakeswari temple today on 10th January, 2010 and assured the prompt arrest of the culprit behind the burglary. The local BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam also visited the temple and expressed his utter dissatisfaction about the present Govt. so that the burglars be-fooled the state police contingencies then on duty at the temple premises.
    Minority Hindus in Bangladesh suspect a nefarious connection between the state police, intelligence and the culprits as they all belong to majority Muslim community. So far the Police and Intelligence in Bangladesh is completely failure to trace out the burglary cases in Bradeswari Kali Temple (Rajar Bag), Jay kali Temple (Wari) and four other old temples in Narayngunj.
    The pity minority Hindus in Bangladesh have to tolerate all these Islamic persecution.

I didnt know there was gold and silver ornaments there. This has been done to us since ages. The muslims not only desecrate our temples to shatter our faith, and hence convert us to powerful faith, but the second reason is to collect the huge wealth in temples as loot. Same thing happened for sorti somnath. In today’s time, these fanatics would first target the tirumala tirupati devasthanam because it is the wealthiest shrine in the world.

  10. Bangladesh & Pakistan: Where Minorities Fear to Walk
    In today’s Bangladesh and Pakistan, you have constant persecution of non-Muslim minorities, while minority Muslim communities are also being killed in the name of radical Sunni Islam in Pakistan. Therefore, Ahmadiyya Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Shia Muslims, Sikhs, and others face daily persecution and hatred in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
    On August 11th this year it will be “Minority Day” in Pakistan, however, Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti of the Pakistan Christian Congress announced that they will be observing ‘Black Day” because of the constant persecution of minorities in Pakistan.
    Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti states “How we can celebrate Minority Day in Pakistan when our innocent brothers are being killed by Islamic militants and our women are being gang raped and enforcedly converted to Islam.”
    It is clear that the partition of India led to chaos and hundreds of thousands of people were murdered. After this chaos divisions would emerge between East Pakistan and West Pakistan and further bloodshed would occur, with the outcome being the sovereign nations of Bangladesh and Pakistan. However, while India remains to be multi-religious, the opposite is happening in Bangladesh and Pakistan because religious minorities are facing the brute reality of radical Sunni Islam.
    To make matters worse both Bangladesh and Pakistan would witness the gradual Islamization of their societies, notably Pakistan, and massive corruption and persecution of women would continue. The Islamization of both nations was especially traumatic for Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan and for Hindus and Buddhists in Bangladesh. Not surprisingly, this Islamic persecution of minorities in both nations re-awakened anti-Islamic feelings in India.
    Christians in Pakistan also began to feel the brunt of radical Sunni Islam and the same applies to Ahmadiyya Muslims who suffer greatly. At the same time you also have growing divisions within Sunni Islam and the usual Sunni-Shia divide led to many massacres and terrorist attacks.
    However, unlike the destruction of Buddhism and Hinduism in Afghanistan which happened centuries earlier because of Islamic conquests, forced conversions to Islam, systematic persecution, and controlling all leverages of power; the Islamization of Bangladesh and Pakistan took place in the twentieth century and continues today.
    Yet why are the religions of Buddhism and Hinduism being allowed to be destroyed in both nations? After all, Buddhists in Bangladesh were a small minority and they could never threaten Islam; the same applies to Hindus in Pakistan. Despite this, the international community remains very silent.
    Therefore, why did other nations remain quiet when massive religious persecution was taking place? After all, nations like France, the United Kingdom and America were espousing ‘democracy’ and liberals were glorifying multi-faith societies and stating that Islam was a religion of peace. At the same time major institutions like the Commonwealth, which espoused global human rights, remained quiet despite religious persecution and pogroms in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
    In Pakistan the destruction of Hinduism and persecution of Hindus took many forms. The first path was the massacre of Hindus during partition and forcing Hindus to leave via coercion. However, over the last 50 years the destruction of Hinduism in modern day Pakistan was based on past Islamic global conquests and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed who sanctioned the persecution of non-Muslims. For the Prophet Mohammed had told his followers to ‘Fight those who believe not in God nor the last day . . . Nor acknowledge the religion of truth (Islam) . . .’ Therefore, the followers of Hinduism were to be subdued in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia Law, the Koran and the Hadiths.
    Given this, Hindus were now a subdued minority, like Christians in Pakistan, and they were unequal in law and status in accordance with the teachings of Islam. At the same time Hindu temples were often converted into Muslim mosques or destroyed, and ancient Hindu architecture was left to collapse and fade away. The choice for many Hindus was either to convert to Islam in order to escape persecution, flee to India or to accept that they were second-class citizens in Pakistan. Not surprisingly, the Hindu population in Pakistan continued to decline and this civilization was being eradicated by Islam.
    The situation for Buddhists in Bangladesh was different, for Buddhism had survived countless Islamic conquests in one region because of terrain and other factors; therefore, Buddhists and other faiths had survived in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. However, the increasing population of Bangladesh led to many problems and the government of Bangladesh hoped ‘to kill two birds with one stone.’ This applies to moving millions of Muslim people to remote parts of Bangladesh, notably the Chittagong Hill Tracts, while at the same time this new Muslim migration would crush the mainly Buddhist tribal opposition in this region.
    Therefore, millions of Muslim migrants were moved into the Chittagong Hill Tracts and the mainly Buddhist tribals (some are Christian, Hindu or follow traditional beliefs) became embroiled in a civil war. Islamic radicals also moved into this region and many Buddhist priests were killed, including some being beheaded. At the same time hundreds of Buddhist temples were destroyed and the Bangladesh army took part in many massacres, and some Buddhist women were gang-raped by both Islamic zealots and the Bangladesh army.
    In time the mainly Buddhist tribals were overwhelmed by the armed forces of Bangladesh and Muslim migration because this was a clear dual policy based on Islamization and control. Their situation, however, went unnoticed in the West and Islamic nations obviously remained silent. To make matters worse, the mainly Buddhist tribes had no nation supporting them and no major world leader to draw attention to their plight. Given this, the government of Bangladesh continues with this policy and Buddhists and other minorities face the ongoing Islamization of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
    Therefore, the destruction of thousands of years of Hindu/Buddhist civilization in these nations is being destroyed and the world remains largely silent. It is clear that mainly Buddhist nations like Japan (and Shinto), Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and others, should form an organization to help their co-religionists; with Japan being the main financial power to raise awareness of Buddhist persecution. However, sadly this is not happening and India clearly did not do enough in order to protect or raise the issue of Hindu persecution in both Bangladesh and Pakistan.
    If global silence continues then Buddhism will one day be eradicated in Bangladesh. However, the global community did condemn the Taliban in Afghanistan for destroying Buddhist statues and art, yet the same global community remains quiet when Buddhist tribes are being systematically persecuted. Does this mean that Buddhist art in Afghanistan is more important than the persecution of Buddhist communities and the gang rape of Buddhist women in Bangladesh?
    Surely the Hindus of Pakistan and Buddhists in the Chittagong Hill Tracts deserve better? If the international community remains silent about this crime, then soon these lands will be Islamized and religiously ‘cleansed.’
    The ongoing silence is an international disgrace and because of this Islamists are now killing Ahmadiyya Muslims and Christians in Pakistan. After all, the world remained silent when Hindus and Sikhs faced massive persecution in Pakistan and the same applies to the constant destruction of Buddhist tribal villages in Bangladesh. Therefore, the persecution of all minorities is getting worse in modern day Pakistan.
    The most vulnerable and ‘voiceless’ in Bangladesh and Pakistan have been abandoned by the international community. Why?

  11. Terrorists Attack ISKCON Temple in Chittagong, Bangladesh
    On May 18, ISKCON News Weekly received a distraught message from an obviously emotional monk at ISKCON’s Nandankanan Sri Sri Gour Nitai Ashram in Chittagong, the main seaport of Bangladesh.
    On May 14 at 3pm, the devotee said, he and his peers were busy preparing for a weekend festival when fifty to sixty terrorists burst into the temple, brandishing knives and iron bars. They first destroyed the kitchens, devotee accommodation, and Gaura Nitai deities. Then, as the devotees ran into the temple courtyard in a panic, the attackers poured boiling water on them from the balcony, badly burning many.
    The terrorists also stole ten to twelve thousand taka (Bangladesh’s monetary unit) from the temple donation box, as well as a further ten thousand from individual residents. Devotees phoned the nearby police station again and again, but to no avail.
    “Their negligence of duty came at a terrible cost,” Chinmoydham Dasa said in his message to ISKCON News. “Many devotees were injured and had to be brought to the hospital’s emergency room.”
    By the time the police finally arrived, the terrorists had caused 80,000 taka worth of damage. Neither did they seem remotely intimidated by the presence of law enforcement. And it was soon clear why. When the terrorists threatened the devotees, “You must all leave now and hand the temple over to us!” the police remained silent, not voicing any defense.
    “For this crime of the police, thousands of devotees took to the streets to protest,” Chinmoydham said. He explains that after this, the police eventually took out a case against the attackers.
    Chinmoydham’s report was in broken English, and it is unsure what group the terrorists belonged to, or what exactly happened when the police arrived, although it appears that the temple remains unsafe for the devotees.       Imagine this is happening in the regime of Sheikh Hasina Wajib, who is considered to be a “MODERATE” amongst the hardliners!! I have also read about Taslima Nasreen, the Bangladeshi writer who tried to highlight the problems faced by Hindu minorities in her country.
      Did you know that Taslima Nasreen would have been handed over to fanatics of Bangladesh by the Indian govt under pressure, had it not been for a strong lobby of intellectuals supporting her cause!! (Let’s give the devil -intellectuals- their due, they did a RARE fine job in standing by the beleaguered author who dared to expose fanatics).

      • Friends, a very sad incident has happened. Uncle of Young Martyr Maj Unnikrishnan has committed suicide by dousing himself with kerosene in FRONT OF PARLIAMENT. He was “Protesting” against the INJUSTICE of Union Government in harassing the families of 26/11 martyrs and the victims of that attack.
        Really shocking. His condition is quite serious. This is what is the condition of a martyr’s family, those who gave their lives for the nation! Imagine what could be the state of commoners, when Netas are busy in their corruption and vote-bank politics.
        The worst part of the incident was that the police was watching the incident and reportedly did not intervene!!!

I used to be very optimistic that I will be able to make these fellows see the truth; BUT sorry to say: EVEN IF THE GOD COMES ON THIS EARTH and SOLEMNLY TESTIFIES ON A “STAMP” PAPER -WITH 10 WITNESS- These fellows would NOT understand rather call him a Kafir!!

      Plus, we arent the only folks disgusted with militant Islam. Pretty much anyone non-Muslim hates Islam – so trashing Islam doesnt seem to be only a Hindu practice.
      The ones who are ok with Islam are those who are clueless about its danger. Which side are YOU on?
