The conclusions of my analyses on Quran were most disheartening.

One

When I learnt that Prophet married his aunt who was much older to him, I was shocked. I was brought up with a mindset that every lady elder to me is equivalent to my mother. My history teacher told me that he did so because she was a widow and he wanted to give her support.

My immediate counter-question was – What do you do when you have to give support to your mother?

Obviously there were no answers and I am seeking them even till date.

There were several facts about Islam that I simply could not digest:

Two

A Prophet is supposed to be a saint, why did he marry 9 times and kept so many concubines? Why did he marry a child when he was so old?

Three

Why did the Prophet marry his own daughter-in-law? If it was because the son was adopted, then it means no female in world is safe with an uncle who is not in blood-relation!

Four

Why does it refuse to treat a woman as mother? Why sex and child-production are the only practical purposes of a woman? Why does a Prophet instruct on how to distribute women as slaves after winning a war?

Five

Why is there no concept of spiritualism and self-control in Islam in matters of sex, violence and food?

Six

Why does Islam provide descriptions of a paradise full of nude women, young boys and wine? Is that the ultimate goal of life?

Seven

Why such great hatred for non-believers that even loot (Jaziya) and killing is allowed?

Eight

Quran was full of tremendous amount of self-contradictions and mockery of science.

Nine

I could not digest the story of an angel coming to Prophet and then Prophet getting gyan from Allah whenever he was in a tight or embarrassing spot.

Ten

You are not supposed to question the Prophet. That makes you a candidate for deadly Hell.

and so on…

The list is very long. To me, Quran seemed more of a book for brainwashing minds to organize them for a war. That may have served purpose in era of the Prophet when people were perhaps too dumb. Or who knows Prophet never wrote Quran. These dirty tales were concocted later and the noble character of a saintly person named Muhammad was assassinated by his followers through fake verses! That seemed very likely.

What be the case, I could find no relevance of Quran to my life and my question on purpose of life. I was more disappointed than ever. I was even nearer to death – the ultimate end of life – and still nowhere.  I had another strong bout that made me almost blank for several days.

Please note that I am not condemning Quran or Islam in any manner. I am only discussing what made me convinced that Quran is at the opposite end to the direction that may solve my problem of life.

Bible was yet to be explored. But since Quran is an offshoot of the same branch, I knew it would be a mere academic exercise and not something that would give me the solutions I seek. It would only give promises of lollipops after death, and some unverifiable stories of miracle in past so that I believe in some set of superstitions in present! My future study of Bible only strengthened this belief.

One thing that emerged from my studies so far was that I started becoming very skeptic of any story of miracle or a superman defying laws of nature. The moment I would read about someone breaking moon with finger, or getting pregnant while maintaining virginity, I would be immediately put off:

  1. There was no way for me to verify these miraculous claims except the story itself.
  2. I never witnessed anything even remotely close or did not hear of anyone who witnessed it.
  3. If a superman can make such miracles, why did he restrict to such petty show of power and not do something more significant and worthwhile for world?
  4. When ten claimants of miracle fight with each other, how can I trust who is right and who is wrong.
  5. When the material contains pornography and boasts of sexual prowess!

I sensed that I was narrowing down to the path that can give me the solution I am seeking. Following were eliminated:

  1. All claimants of miracle who have no evidence or proof to back such claims.
  2. All those cults whose ideology has internal contradictions.
  3. All those who fight with each other. All cannot be right at the same time. Only one of them has to be true.
  4. All who lived a life of sensuousness and then claimed to have solution to life and death.

In summary, the Qurans and Bibles were out of contention. Even if these were true at some time in past, either they have been manipulated to beyond recognition or too difficult to grasp for me. It was always impossible for me to find deep spiritual meaning from vulgar literature. If truth is truth, it be better told straight than made so complex.

Let me mention that Purans represented a totally different case. They contained deep philosophical discourses as well as stories of pornography and superstitions. Then I read Bhavishya Puran. It talked about Prophet Muhammad and Queen Victoria among others! I quickly realized that Purans are not authentic literature. For sure they have been manipulated in last 1000 years of our slavery and misrule. So Purans may be referred in parts but cannot provide me the solution I seek. I reemphasized my belief in Hinduism, but rejecting the objectionable portions of Purans.

The only option remained were philosophical texts of East – Buddhism, Jainism, Upanishads, Vedas etc – which required much deeper analysis.

My disillusionment with Quran and Bible had made me a ‘fanatic’ Hindu in eyes of communist government of Bengal. I was an active member of RSS at such young age and had to go underground in 1992 when Babri Masjid was destroyed. I remember distributing sweets when a monument of brutality erected by a rapist was finally destroyed by bravehearts.

Time flew fast. It was 1995 and I got chance to enter my dream – an IIT. A new era began in my life!

Note: Quran in this article refers Hindi and English translations and not the Arabic original which author has not studied. Islam refers to religion based on these translations. Prophet refers to person whose stories are written in these translations. Author makes no comment whatsoever on the original Quran, original Prophet and original Islam because he has no access to them.

  1. Puran, Quran and Bible are all full of mythological and irrational stories. Any person who has some rational and scientific mind, will not find any pleasure or satisfaction in reading these books that do not make any sense or preach immoral, violence or unequality. Vedas are true knowledge. However, you must find the correct translation of Vedic books.

  2. When I was young, I borrowed a book – Bhagwad Puran from an old lady who used to read this book 2-3 times in a day. I was very much impressed with her devotion and wanted to find some secrets of spritiual happiness in this book. But I got very disappointed, when I found so many stupid stories that did not make any sense. I was really stunned and I could not believe how a person can keep reading these stupid stories. That was my first exposure to Puran and I never touched any puran since then.

  3. I agree with Mathew posted.
Half baked news/truths are always bad.And in today's world where information is freely avaialble,,its not easy to brainwash people with lies and propagandas.

Mosf of the questions/confusions about islam/quran and mohammed has been answered clearly by many.
Anyway,I congratulate the site admin, for allowing us to post opposing views and debates.
Thats a good way to learn things.

    I'm posting a sample:

When Muhammad was twenty-five years old he married for the first time. His wife, Khadijah, was fifteen years older than him. She remained the only wife of the prophet for the next twenty-five years, until she died (may Allah be pleased with her).

Only after her death did the prophet marry other women. Now, it is obvious that if the prophet was after physical pleasure he did not have to wait until he was more than fifty years old to start marrying more wives. He lived in a society in which it was quite acceptable to have many wives. But the prophet remained devoted to his only wife for twenty-five years. When she died she was sixty-five years old.

His later marriages were for various reasons. Some marriages were with the view to help the women whose husbands had been killed while they were defending their faith. Others were with a view to cement relationships with devoted followers like Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him. Yet others were to build bridges with various tribes who were otherwise at war with the Muslims. When the prophet became their relative through marriage, their hostilities calmed down, and much bloodshed was averted.

Recent non-Muslim writers who had the opportunity to study the life of the prophet first-hand reached a similar conclusion about his plural marriages.

John L. Esposito, Professor of Religion and Director of the Centre for International Studies at the College of the Holy Cross, says that most of these marriages had "political and social motives" (Islam: The Straight Path, Oxford University Press, 1988, p. 19). This he explained as follows:

As was customary for Arab chiefs, many were political marriages to cement alliances. Others were marriages to the widows of his companions who had fallen in combat and were in need of protection (John L. Esposito, Islam: The Straight Path, pp. 19-20).

    • You better read understanding Muhammad by Ali Sina. The reason we are asking these questions about Muhammad is because he was a prophet of Allah, not an ordinary man. We don’t expect him to do what other ignorant Arabs were doing. How could he get attracted to a 6 years old child. Before you call it a political relationship, let me make it clear that it was Muhammad who approached Abu Bakr to marry Ayesha. Why did he had sex with war captives(without their permission and before marrying them)?

    • Prophet would have been a sexual maniac to marry a kid. He even married his son’s wife in the name of god. His followers are like him. They rape and destroy anything they thing they put hands on.

    • Sajid…………………. its not a fact … if I want to protect any lady or girls it’s not compulsory when i will be married to them then she will be protected ..Mohammad can accept as daughter and sister .still he can protect them .why Mohammad marry to Ayesha when she was only 9years old .why Mohammad marry to Zainab (who was the wife of his adopted son Zaid) in the case where is protection i dot understand .one more case maria who was a jew ..

  4. @Mathew

This blog is to educate Hindus about the negative traits of christianity and islam. It is not targetted at christians or muslims, eventhough we find a lot of them prowling around and making the wrong noises.

Hindus need to know the negatives of christians and muslims. christians and muslims go around lying about christianity and islam, so its the duty of those who see through this deception to warn the Hindus and see to that they do not fall into the trap of jesus or allah.

You think that we are wasting time and considerable intelligence, just because we trashed your faith and you are not able to counter it logically. that is why you did not raise any kind of valid queries.

We have a lot to tell to the world, but at the same time we are educating the Hindus about the two blood thirsty faiths – christianity and islam. If you dont find this according to your taste, you may simply stop visiting this site.

    • There are number of comments against vedas by number of people, about concept of gods and so many, are they attacking hinduism, or vedas or hindus?. By your analysis not hindus but only the books not the people.

You should appreciate those guys that they are doing the same job what you are doing. And Truth will prevail. But tell any Hindu to believe in one God and remove man made idols treated as gods and which is to be fed, protected under lock and key ,for fear of thieves. You remove those gods from their minds and temples. Are you sure about this? Or you have same belief..

      • @MZS
Yes brother and in similar way, muslims need to stop stone, Tajiya, and grave worship. They need to stop doing Shirk by remembering Muhammad in prayers along with Allah.

      • Why should Hindus believe in one god? Just because your barbaric religion tells to believe one god blindly? You guys should stop worshipping your foreign god who is nothing but barbarian.

  5. If you are after enlightenment why so much negativity? Why this obsession with Christianity and Islam? Why not think about, write about, and promote your own positive beliefs rather than spending your valuable time in reproducing the readily available criticisms of Christianity and Islam? All those numerous posts you spend your time on are a waste, as such material is already available from propagandists on the net, sometimes in compilations (pamphlets) by anti-Christian activists/ propagandists like Sitaram Goel and others.

I am a Christian, though not a regularly practicing one. All those contradictions and 'errors' in Old/ New testaments that you are spending your time on are already known to an average Christian. He knows that the books of Bible are accounts by human authors, reproduced from memory, (not unlike journalistic accounts). The errors are deliberately left untouched by the compilers of the canonic Bible to indicate this fact.

Your analysis of the Bible (I am not informed enough to speak about Quran) are shallow and elementary and are re-regurgitations. For example, your advisories to the Delhi students on Christianity cannot be sillier. A reasonably well-informed Christian scholar will shred your analysis to pieces. Instead, you must have noticed no worthwhile Christian ever wastes his/ her time on such refutation, as works like these (there are many on the internet) are simply ignored by Christians because it is a waste of time even to refute what is shallow.

You are wasting your time and considerable intelligence in running this site full of the negative sentiments. may be you will get some Kudos from those who already share your attitude to these issues. But it is doubtful all these wasted efforts will convert any new individual to your view point. If you have something fresh, positive to tell the world (eg. your beliefs) please do that. That will be more fruitful and rewarding.

    • @Mathew
Brother, we just wanted to aware people about the trap of Christian and muslim missionaries for Hindus. If you can see, we have started publishing the core teachings of Vedas. We have lot more material already available about Eeshvar and Vedas, but you could not find that, I dont know why.

As far as Christians ignoring our analysis goes, yes I agree that they will not refute our points. Simply because of two reasons. Refutation requires a logical brain, which is not possessed by those missionaries. Second, they dont need it because they get billions of dollars from outside to convert the tribal people of India into Christianity. So, morally, you should go and ask those missionaries first to stop their cowardly act of lying the people about this false religion of Christianity. And remember, Christianity and Islam are two religions, which have only given negatives to the world, nothing positive. History of both is full of bloodshed while trying to convert others into their false religion. Better tell all this to those wolves called missionaries, who are tearing apart the culture of India.

      • Dear Mathew, it’s you who wasted his valuable time. You could have refute the claims of the admin in simple and short sentences but you started lecturing(& wasting your time) about time management. The writer didn’t use any insulting/abusing terms for Jesus or Muhammad unlike your people who keep calling Hindus Satan worshipers. It’s you guys who spread negativity not Agniveer.

  6. Baseless and non-sense analysis.

You can't merely judge a religion without understanding its contents thoroughly. A duty of Muslim is to give awareness about Allah and Islam.

  7. The only option remained were philosophical texts of East – Buddhism, Jainism, Upanishads, Vedas etc …..are you done with Jainism? Please reply.

    • To quite some extent. But there are huge variations in beliefs of various sub-sects of Jains. I found no Jain who is a Jain because of ideology. They are Jains because they were born in Jain family and hence consider their duty to believe in Jainism.
