- ‘Science in Vedas’ Session With Agniveer
- Vedas and Motion of Planets
A session on the theme ‘Science in Vedas‘ with Agniveer was successfully conducted in Arya Samaj Rohni Sec-7, New Delhi on Jun 24, 2012. Agniveer previously interacted with Youth on another Theme ‘Transform your Life- Power of Vedas‘ on May 13, 2012 in Delhi which became very popular among youth.
Dr Vivek Arya, Child Specialist, famous Historian, and Research Head, Agniveer Peace Foundation discussed the roots of Medical Science found in Vedas. He quoted Atharvaved (10/2/11) and elaborated on the mechanism of blood circulation using this Mantra. He discussed about many diseases and their cures using Vedic Techniques.
Here is a portion of his talk:
Sh Sanjeev Newar, an IIT-IIM Alumnus and renowned Vedic Scholar, initiated his talk with definitions of Science and Vedas. He established relationship between Science and Spirituality (known as Apara and Para Vidya respectively in Vedas) and explained that Science without spiritual goal is a blind Runner. He amazingly explained that Science is not about inventing gigantic Machines or gadgets. Science is simply a process of refining our beliefs and knowledge with more promising explanations by conducting series of observations followed by drawing honest conclusions without getting biased by our previous beliefs and stand. He gave examples of several mantras that highlighted principles of electromagnetism, gravitation, motion of planets, eclipse and principles of economics. He also explained scientific meaning of several mantras like Gayatri Mantra, Yam-Yami sukta etc.
Glimpses of his lecture can be seen in this video
He beautifully explained that believing in Science does not mean to deny God! Only people devoid of reason would conclude that. Newton was an ardent believer of God! Model of God defined by Einstein hardly differs with that of Vedic Model of God explained by Swami Dayanand! One can have a look at Dayanand’s take on God, Science, and Vedas in his famous book, Rigved Aadi Bhashya Bhumika (Introduction to Vedas) here http://agniveer.com/introduction-to-vedas/
Session ended with Shanti Mantra, prayer dedicated to Peace and Brotherhood for entire Universe.
All Arya Samaj officials cooperated fully and made this session success. Event Coordinator Sh Vivek Arya, Arya Samaj Rohini, managed everything to the perfection.

It would appreciated if this was done in English, or has English subtitiles
Thanks

My brother suggested I might like this website. He was once totally right. This post actually made my day. You can not consider simply how so much time I had spent for this information! Thank you!
Could you please do a critique of other sources that say things like ‘Vedas say that the Earth is static’ etc. An example can be found here – http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Agora/4229/in4.htm

These sites are promoted by western to trash the Indian literature. They do not have any background of Sanskrit. They translated the verses at will. Veda Clearly says:
Yajurveda Mantra 3/6 states “Ayam Gauhu Swaha Pitram Puraha Prayan Mataram Prishnihi Aakrameet Asadat”.
Meaning:
This earth revolves around the Sun in the space and it also rotates on its own axis.
