    • RUDRA WHAT IS YOURROBLEM.. IF U R THINKINNG THAT VEDAS WILLGIVE U HEDONISTICLIFE STYLEWHERE BOTH MAN N WOMAN ARE FREE TOACT ACCORDING TOTHEIR WHIMS THEN U R IN WRONG DESTINATION..THESE ARE DIVINE LAWS WHICH CANNOT BE CHANGED BY ANYONE .IF U R FINDING IT IRRATIONAL THATS YOUR FAULT..PIGS LIKE U FIRST DONT READ VEDAS AND THEN WANT VEDAS AS PER YOU…AV3/25/6-MEANS THAT IN LAWS AND HUSBAND SHOULD ENSURE THAT NEWLY WED BRIDE DISCOVERS SO MUCH OF LOVE SO THAT SHE SHOULD NOT REMEBER HER HOUSE.. A NEWLY WED BRIDE AWAY FROMHOME IN A NEW ENVIORMENT REQUIRES LOT OF ATTENTION,LOVE AND CARE SO THAT SHE DOESNT FEEL SAD AND ACCEPT HER HUSBANDS HOME AS HER OWN HOME WITH GETTING SAME LOVE FROM IN LAWS AS SHE USED TO GET FROM HER PARENTS..
AV4/38/1-CONQURED SENSUALITY MEANS ,SHE SHOULD BE FREE FROM LUST .NOT THINKING OF OTHER MEN AND NOT BE A SEX MANIAC .ACCORDING TO VEDAS SEXIS USED FOR PROCREATIONONLY NOT FORSENSE ENJOYMENT.WHICH I M SURE U WILL BE UNABLE TO DIGEST .SICE YOUR MIND IS INDULGED IN LUSTN THEREFORE U FIND IT IRRATIONAL …SWAMIJI ANSWERS QUESTION ON THAT SITE TO EVERYONE IN FEW DAYS..BUT U CAME HERE NOT ASKED THE PERSON WHOWROTE IT..HE HAS EXLAINED THESE SEVERAL TIMES IN QUESTION ANSWERS.BUT U DIDNT READ..AND YES IF ITS IRRATIONAL TO U THEN PRACTICE WHATEVER U WANT..BUT DHARMA CANNOT BE CHANGED FOR U OR IT CAN BE MADE PRO FEMINISM..EVERYONE IS BOUND BY DUTIES THAT VEDAS PRESCRIBE HIM WEATHER ONE LIKES IT OR NOT..

    • Dogra, Thanks for the link. The first thing I looked at is the references used in the paper. All but one reference is from Western authors, as if the Westerners have a better eye in interpreting the Vedas.
Witzel is a professional Hindu hater. I remember at the time of California textbook controversy Witzel (backed by Romila Thapar) attacked the Hindu groups proposing changes, calling them as Hindu nationalists and fanatics. And when he was invited by the local authorities to rationally prove his claims that proposed changes are incorrect, he did not have any explanation and blamed the Californian authorities. Refer the complete interview is on http://www.rediff.com/news/2005/dec/30inter1.htm

      • Chetan, yes this Witzel chappie is just another hater. Glad he was responded to by Hindu groups, as we must defend beautiful faith of sanatan dharma

  2. Agniveer ji,
What do our vedas and say about the dharm of parents and a daughter if the parents are forcing their daughter to get married to some one against her will. What are the rights of a girl according to vedas???

    • no ne can force girl, she has right to choose her husband ..yajurved 6.24 gives her this right ,but she should be celibate and also marry a celibate man of her choice

    • Bro/Sis, firstly Manu Smriti is not a Bible for Hindus or more correctly Sanatan Dharm. The verses you are referring to in Manusmriti which allegedly demeans women are all interpolations and misinterpretations inserted by corrupt upper castes and foreign invaders. There are several verses which praise women and accord them highest status in society, so how in the same book, it can contradict to so much extent. Out of 2600+ verses available in present day Manusmriti, 1600+ nearly are only original.
